Stormwater credit policy

Our stormwater credit policy rewards residents and businesses for reducing the runoff flowing into our local drainage systems.

Stormwater policy results

Through implementation of our stormwater credit policy, we are achieving the following results:

• stormwater is being diverted, resulting in long-term improvements in surface water quality
• property owners are implementing best management practices and making choices that benefit the environment
• the community is engaged and has opportunity to demonstrate ownership over greening their neighbourhoods
• the cities of Kitchener and Waterloo are demonstrating continued cooperation on the shared initiative to address water quality
