Make account changes

Property owners

To make general changes to your account including name change, phone number, adding someone to your account, or other basic changes, use our account change request form.

We require up to thirty days’ notice to close an account, and at least two-weeks’ notice for changes that may affect your billing cycle or service.

Tenants

To make general changes to your account information, contact customer service by phone at 519-741-2450 or by email.

Moving, transferring your account

Property owners

1. Before you start the transfer your account form, have the following information ready:

  • account number
  • legal closing date for existing property
  • Lawyer's name
  • Lawyer's phone number
  • forwarding address
  • full names of those on property title
  • legal possession date for new property

2. Complete the transfer your account form

A $40 administration fee applies when you transfer an existing account within Kitchener.

Tenants

1. Before you contact us, have the following information ready:

  • final date you are responsible for making bill payments for the property
  • forwarding address
  • occupancy date for the new property

2. Contact customer service by phone at 519-741-2450 or by email with your information.

3. You will need to provide the following for your new account:

  • $40 administration fee
  • $50 water account deposit
  • $150 natural gas account deposit
  • photo identification
  • If you are setting up a business or commercial account, deposits vary depending on building type and size. Contact customer service by phone at 519-741-2450 for more information on commercial deposits.

4. You may be required to sign a contract for the new property. 


Have someone take care of your account

If you are going on vacation for an extended period of time, you can allow a contact person to make changes to your account, pay your bills or request appliance service at your home while you are away.

  • start and end dates for the authorization
  • your assigned contact person’s name and phone number
