Understanding Natural Gas Water Heaters

R: Conventional Tank vents to the outside through a chimney in the home

FV: Flammable Vapour Tank

PV: Power Vented tanks vent through the side of a home using a blower motor

DV: Direct Vented tanks vent through the side of a home without using a blower motor

COMBO: Combo Vented tanks are used with Air Handlers for home heating

TANKLESS: Tankless heats water on demand and is direct vented
